2009. The courses earn RN and LPN contact hours and ACHA hours.

Highlights:
- Chair Elect, Damien Boley tasked to collect SMP data
- Estimate 61 people to attend the ISO 9001:2008 & Lean Six Sigma Workshop. Meeting to be held in room 270, Regnier Hall, JCCC
- Discuss changing the location of the February 21, 2009 workshop to CERNER located on Oak Traffic Way in the North Area. Suggest Hy-Vee to cater this event.
- Discussed Quality courses now offered in the new Spring 2009 JCCC catalog. Also project a new course offering topic: Six-Sigma Health Care.
- Treasurer Report – No significant changes, everything is solvent.
- Placement – Estimated 22 job postings in October 2008
- New membership – 7 welcome letters sent
- ASQ 1301 website is now ready for Blogs. Contact Mamta Basnet email mamta.basnet@sbcglobal.net to submit Blog articles and pictures. Also discussed adding a video promotion on Lean Six-Sigma for Health Care to this website.
- Discussed possibility of offering scholarships for unemployed to take qualification certification courses. Money may be raised through website advertisements and must go toward quality. This topic tabled for further board discussion.
- JEC report – Discussed JEC sponsored luncheon to raise funds for Explorer Scouts exploring engineering careers. Monies donated used to supply training materials, supplies, and equipment to scouts interested in pursuing engineering careers in corporations such as Black & Veatch. Cost to attend luncheon is minimum $500.00 per plate. Board motioned and accepted to have a donation box placed at the November 15, 2008 workshop.
- Publicity – KC Chapter IIE joint conference with ASQ 1301. Suggest ASQ 1301 use conference to promote our organization. Expect IIE to reciprocate at their meeting.
- Excellence of Missouri Foundation is seeking a new director
- Discussion on KC Chamber of Commerce. Questions: Do we want to join? What are the benefits to our organization? Who will participate? Treasurer suggested making a list of KC Chamber of Commerce Events. Surveying members as to who can attend. Benefits of joining the Chamber are not quantifiable. Chamber may be an excellent venue for networking, publicity, and creating buzz. Attendees may handout ASQ business cards. Motion to vote on membership at the January 2009 ASQ 1301 Board Meeting.
- Café Program – Need for more publicity, continue making survey on participation
- University of Missouri Student Chapter – Documents for the new Chapter are in process.
- Nominations for Regional 13 Director are still open still open until January 2, 2009
